Expandable Storage Density
The HPE Storage MSL3040 Tape Library features a scale-out architecture that grows with your needs. Add modules to increase capacity and performance without replacing the library.
Scale vertically from 80 to 640 cartridge slots to store up to 28.8 PB of data using LTO-9 at 2.5:1 compression. Add up to 48 HH LTO-8 or LTO-9 SAS or FC drives.
HPE Storage MSL3040 Tape Library delivers cost-efficient density with 13 cartridge slots - or 600 TB (using LTO-9 tapes and 2.5:1 compression) - per 1U of rack space, scaling from 40 to 640 slots in a single expandable library, eliminating costly replacements as your requirements grow.
Partitioning allows for the creation of virtual libraries that operate independently, maximizing utilization and reducing the need for additional hardware, lowering overall infrastructure costs.
Advanced Security Features
In-library air-gap protection with MSL vault partition, isolating media without removing cartridges from the library, or create a physical air-gap by removing the media from the library.
Multifactor Authentication (MFA) support adds an extra layer of protection for secure library management.
Reduce the threat of cyberattack with the MSL encryption kit, a fully self-contained encryption system which can be deployed without the need for an extra server or appliance, additional software or the complexity of a full KMIP solution.
High availability path failover uses host drivers in conjunction with library and drive firmware to manage multiple paths across multiple SANs. It presents a single drive or robot path to applications and automatically transfers commands to an alternate path if the original one is lost.
Protect critical data with immutable WORM storage and media specified for a 30-year shelf life under normal ambient conditions. Easily move rugged LTO cartridges off-site for disaster recover while preventing accidental overwrites.
