Safeguarding your current and future devices
Recently the government announced that for appliances delivered on-site before October 2021, they would allow organisations to choose between some standard devices or devices with pre-installed safeguarding software. This previous data that allowed the installation of the free safeguarding software was due to expire on 30th September 2021, where it was expected that organisations would in most cases then make other arrangements. However, the Government has now updated this date due to many organisations being unprepared. So, in summary, this has been extended to run until an end date of October 2022.
This is welcome news in the short term and certainly eliminates any immediate pressure. However, one thing to keep in mind is that organisations will still be required to take control of devices before this date and will be required to restore these units to factory settings and apply their own remote management solution.
