The National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) recently published an update, which can be found here, about an increased number of ransomware attacks that have been affecting education establishments within the UK. These attacks have targeted schools, colleges, and universities. The attached link to the report provides great in-depth detail including the recent trends that have been observed recently in ransomware attacks within the UK education sector. The report also provides additional information in regards to the trends that were observed during August and September 2020, along with the more recent ransomware attacks that have occurred since the beginning of 2021.
