Microsoft removing "Legacy" CSP licensing from its portfolio - replacing with New Commerce Experience (NCE)

schange to Microsoft licensing...

As you may be aware, Microsoft recently announced a change in how customers purchase and manage their licenses through their Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) Program.  For our customers, this change will impact how you purchase Microsoft 365 licenses.

Beginning on March 1, 2022, Microsoft has announced a 20% price increase will go into effect for the following licenses: Microsoft Business Basic, Microsoft 365 Business Premium, Office 365 E1, E3, and E5, and Microsoft 365 E3.

With Microsoft removing "Legacy" CSP licensing from its portfolio from March 10th, now is the time to act on your Microsoft CSP licenses.  Price increases from March 1st have also made it harder to get a great deal on what you use.

Qual, partnered with Lenovo, has a solution that allows you to purchase Legacy licenses up to March 10th and lock in your pricing for 12 months. From March 11th NCE (New Commerce Experience – More information can be found here) licensing comes into effect that restricts how you can add and remove your licenses from your CSP portal.

Legacy CSP

Can flex quantity at any juncture at a fixed price point over 12 months.  Customers have limited time to utilise this option.  This will need to be renewed into NCE at renewal time.

NCE Annual term (Pay monthly or annually)

Can flex quantity UP ONLY at any juncture, The customer commits to a minimum number of licenses that can only be adjusted once a year at renewal.  The price point is locked for the duration, 1-year term available currently, 3 years to be released later this year on selected licenses.

NCE Monthly term (Pay Monthly)

No commitment is required, the price point is c.20% higher than NCE Annual term as the customer has the flexibility to adjust quantities and cancel at any juncture.  There is no price lock for this term.

Our Legacy CSP offering is different from other CSP providers as we provide the following benefits:

PAYG model

You only pay for what you use, as explained if you added a license today and only needed it for a week or so then you would only pay for that time period and not a full month.

No Minimum Term

Some CSP partners require you to be committed to 12 months minimum, we do not have that requirement.  If you only want to cancel your CSP licenses with us then we only need 30 days’ notice and you can remove your licenses from your Qual associated portal.

Portal Access

You have full control of your CSP licenses where you can add and remove licenses whenever you require.  With our portal, you also get access to reports and billing information when you need it.

No minimum Quantity

Some CSP partners require a minimum license count, Qual does not have this, and you can be a CSP customer with a single license.

UK Support Call Centre

All Microsoft support is in the UK with certified Microsoft support staff using our Partner Lenovo’s call centres in the UK.  Out of UK business hours support is provided with a “follow the Sun” model and also taken by a support team in New Zealand.  If you were to raise a support ticket you will be supported by the same support team member who will know your issue.
